The AUGEIP 4th Level Advanced AUGEIP-AUICT Information Communications Technology Training Program, offers specialized programs for satellite experts, IP and routing specialists to form an integral part of the global markets and society, enabling the African countries to enter the global markets and address the most critical issues that they face - including poverty, healthcare and education. This Advanced ICT Training program is designed to provide Participants in the AUGEIP-AUICT program with the necessary know how  processes for preparing their member states and global markets be ready to adopt Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for economic and social development. 

The AUGEIP 4th Level Advanced AUGEIP-AUICT Information Communications Technology Training Program will qualify the Participants to meet their countries needs in routing setup and acquire either Static or BGP4 routing. They will learn to monitor the status of international satellite links, and the performance and bandwidth utilization of each customer’s link, with the ability to make any necessary adjustments with regards to global networks.

The Program offers the know how to service a complete range of wholesale global satellite services with unsurpassed quality and reliability.  It address the training to meet the skills required to operate some of the world's largest telecom carriers, broadcasters, and corporate network and Internet service providers.  Following are the technological you will train and acquire skills, master the necessary technology to allowing you access the Job Positions available with:

• Telecommunication Carrier Services

  We are a partner of a leading provider of satellite capacity for telecommunication carriers.  Today, our partner's satellites link more points in more countries for public voice and data networks than any other satellite system.  With access to a community of over 400 carriers, you can establish international and regional networks virtually overnight.  Our extensive connections provide path diversity and new routes for overflow traffic, and enhance your overall network integrity.

  We offer customers truly global service, reaching areas not accessible by traditional fiber networks.  And, we provide a full range of platforms to meet customers needs for high quality point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connections.

  TCM/IBS

  Our partner's latest high-quality digital service for carriers, GlobalConnexE-readiness^sm TCM/IBS, is now available. Now, voice, data, video, Internet and voice-over-IP applications will be handled more efficiently and typically at lower costs than traditional pre-engineered solutions. GlobalConnexE-readiness^sm TCM/IBS uses trellis-coded modulation in conjunction with 8PSK and mandatory Reed-Solomon outer coding, which enables virtually error-free performance to satisfy today most demanding service requirements.

  Carrier services support:

  International and domestic telephony and data communications
  You can rely on our partners atellites for high-quality digital voice and data communications that meet international standards for public switched network communications.  This includes business data services such as hotel and airline reservations, retail, banking, etc.

  Internet trunking
  If a customer need high-volume access to the Internet backbone, you will learn to offer it via satellite, allowing you to bypass congested network access points.  

  Corporate networks
  You will learn how to provide Corporate networks with satellite capacity to help their customers develop and operate private business networks, including LAN/WAN interconnections, intranets, extranets, videoconferencing, telemedicine and distance learning.  

• Internet Technology with support to:

  Internet backbone connections
  As a partner to major carrier, we provide backbone access to ISPs and corporate customers on every continent.  You will learn how to provide customer with scalable connections at speeds of up to 155 Mbps at the right price to meet their needs.

  Internet trunking
  If you are a regional ISP, you need to connect users to the World Wide Web.  You will learn how to hook you up quickly customers and affordably transmit directly from earth station or through  local telecommunications company.

  Direct-to-Home
  We can also help you establish Direct-to-Home (DTH) services using DVB/IP.  Whether a customer need to reach a large metropolitan area on the subcontinent, or a group of tropical islands, our global fleet of satellites you will learn how to provide access to the country or region of their choice.

  Internet access
  For smaller ISP, you will learn expand  their reach, by giving them affordable access to new markets and the strategic benefit of connecting to the upstream provider of their choice.

  From a two-hour concert to a season-long sports series, we have the capacity and the expertise to make sure customer event is transmitted on time and without interruptions.  For major events, we need to train expert staff on-site to coordinate technical operations, and to make sure that all transmissions go smoothly.

  Studio-to-studio
  We provide customer with fast, easy and reliable transmission of video footage, from the moment the raw material is received from the field to the time images are distributed to TV viewers.  Our partners' global fleet of satellites and access to a worldwide network of earth stations offer customers the flexibility to uplink and downlink anywhere in the world. Extensive training is provided in this area.

  Television broadcasting

  Our partner's fleet offers customers strategic and flexible coverage, and the power needed to reach small dishes.  We provide fully steerable Ku-band spot beams to target your audience and meet customers specialized needs. Extensive training is provided in this area.

  Through Corporate Network Services, we offer customers the wholesale satellite solutions needed  to develop and operate truly global private communications networks.  For needs ranging from inventory control to inter-office communications, we reach virtually every country in the world.  We have been working with the world's major carriers to support business networks for nearly two decades.  Customers can rely on our partner's satellites for high quality digital voice, data, and multimedia communications. Extensive training is provided in this area.

  Corporate network services support:

  Transactional applications
  Need to build a communications network for customers to help manage their business?  Our corporate network services support such narrowband applications as point of sale transactions, credit card verification, inventory control and management, and corporate communications.  And, we can support such requirements as transcontinental booking arrangements for hotels and airlines, as well as a host of news and financial information services to support your customers' global operations. Extensive training is provided in this area.

  Interactive applications
  For customers who need a worldwide network for their offices to interact, our Broadband Services facilitate voice, data, and multimedia applications, including two-way video, Intranet, Extranet, and Internet communications, distance learning, and other critical communications applications.  Our voice services - over Frame, IP and ISDN - meet the full range of your customers' voice communications needs.  Customers also have the option of bandwidth on demand.  Options such as pre-tested, plug-and-play equipment let you establish service quickly and access all areas of the globe. Finally the Advanced Level  ICT Training Program will train applicants to provide the following satellite connectivity services:

Global Connect network’s service is available in dedicated bandwidth from 64 Kbps through 45 Mbps, and in burstable variations with Committed Information Rates (CIR). All dedicated rates and CIRs are guaranteed. Service is also available to home users with packages that are tailor made for customers and download speeds that is determined utilizing proxy settings that will resolve at our proxy IP address. Global Connect network service is delivered in both Simplex (receive only) and Duplex (Transmit / receive). Service backbone connectivity is backed by Global Connect network’s expertise in satellite communications and IP networking. 

1 - Simplex Service

Simplex service provides a broadcast satellite “receive-only” connection that increases downstream bandwidth used for accessing web pages and file downloads. Existing upstream connection is used for sending requests to the Internet. This solution reduces the traffic congestion and slow response time caused by local infrastructure and multiple router-hops from local providers. Simplex is available in both dedicated speeds, and burstable service options.

Global Connect network simplex solution is an add-on service that does not require a transmitter, transmission license or a return circuit to Global Connect network’s facilities. Simplex service solution allows customers to increase inbound bandwidth only, which is more cost effective for business. In addition, Global Connect network downstream feed can be broadcast to several sites at the same time, providing direct access to multi-node networks and eliminating the need for expensive and inefficient local loops. 

2 - Duplex Service

Duplex service provides reliable two-way connections directly from the global backbone without any connections to local providers of any kind (local telecom loops or ISP’s). Duplex service provides alternate routing and disaster recovery in the event your terrestrial Internet connection fails due to a fiber cut or other service outage. Since Global Connect network has redundant service to more than one Tier-1 Internet backbone provider, its survivability is increased over most other satellite and terrestrial network providers who are limited to their owned and operated facilities. 

Duplex service utilizes a dedicated connection for upstream requests and a burstable or dedicated speed connection for the downstream connection.

• Asymmetrical service - offers an advantage by allowing customer to specifically configure transmit and receive sides service to best meet traffic and routing requirements.
  

• Symmetrical service – is designed for those whose traffic characteristics require the same bandwidth in both directions with the added advantage of a burstable receive-side for added bandwidth when needed.

3-Symmetric & Asymmetric

Single Hop Full Mesh Configuration - PTT's, ISP's, GSM operators and multiple office organizations, establishments in different cities or counties are located in our partner's  foot print. They can benefit for the first time in the region from this new service: One single hop they communicate using data, voice and video to & from all their locations. This service will use Duplex (Symmetric or Asymmetric) service.
